A Spaniard, played by an Englishman, dons a mask to save the Mexicans in California from the Spanish. After years in a Spanish-run prison in Mexico, where everyone is white, the Spaniard escapes and trains a Mexican, played by a Spaniard, to don the mask in his stead. The two save the day while the Mexican falls in love with the Spaniard's daughter, who is played by a Welsh woman. And everyone speaks English.
